Kanchan

Born into a family deeply rooted in yogic traditions in Nepal’s Baitadi District and the sacred land of Uttarakhand, India, Kanchan Singh began his lifelong journey with yoga at the age of three. Guided by his father and guru, Swami Shankar Maharaj Puri, Kanchan spent sixteen formative years living in a traditional yoga ashram, where he immersed himself in the rich teachings and disciplined practices that form the foundation of authentic yoga. Complementing this profound early training, Kanchan pursued formal education, earning a degree in Health Education, a Diploma in Hatha Yoga, and completing a 200-hour Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training in Mysore, India. His commitment to learning has also led him to study with esteemed international yoga masters, continuously broadening his perspective and refining his teaching. What sets Kanchan apart is his ability to translate complex yogic wisdom into simple, accessible practices that resonate with students from all walks of life. He believes that yoga is a living, evolving tradition—one that invites openness, curiosity, and a willingness to learn from many sources. Today, Kanchan shares his knowledge through a wide range of offerings, including daily classes, retreats, teacher training courses, and yoga tours across Nepal’s breathtaking landscapes. His collaborations with global yoga schools further amplify his mission to spread the healing power of yoga worldwide. With warmth, clarity, and humility, Kanchan Singh continues to inspire and empower his students, helping them cultivate balance, vitality, and inner peace both on and off the mat.

Swami Gurukrupananda Puri

HARI HI OM

Swami Gurukrupananda Puri, a Monk, and have been teaching Vedanta, Tantra, and Patanjali yoga philosophy to students since long in various Yoga schools for enthusiastic Spiritual seekers, where the Ancient Yogis, through philosophy, have explained the meaning of our life, the basis of our life, and the disciplines to be practiced in our daily life—conduct of our life practically from a Spiritual standpoint, which has a huge impact on the physical health of our body and on robust mental health. So in a nutshell, I teach the following subjects, namely Philosophy, Meditation, and Pranayama, Basic Ayurvedic principles, and applications relevant to Modern Anatomy in order to know the benefits we gain through the practice of ASANAS—Pranayama—Meditation. I teach the proper chanting of Mantras, which helps in harmonizing the inner psychic currents and the cosmic vibrations around us. In today’s modern world, the changing lifestyle adds a lot of stress mentally & physically. Here we have completely neglected some basic principles & laws that govern nature, our physical body, as well as our mental make-up. Our Vedic Rishis or Sages had a deep insight into all these principles & laws governing our cosmic nature & human nature. They also shared it with humanity. These include the philosophy, asana, meditation, health, knowledge about food, Pranayama, Mantras, etc. Through Philosophy we get a deep knowledge & insight into these laws & principles. Using the knowledge, we apply certain practical methods like ASANA, where our physical body can be strengthened to bear the stress of the modern lifestyle. Practices like Pranayama—the breathing techniques, play an important role in rejuvenating our body as well as the mind by activating the inner unused psychic & divine energies. Chanting of Mantras helps us in harmonizing the inner psychic currents affecting the mind & body. The Ayurvedic principles help us to understand the energies shaping our physical framework, regulating our mental make-up & psychical build-up. Also, knowing the facts about our physical and mental body from the perspective of modern medical Science helps us better deal with our day—day life. So thus, all this knowledge & practices are only to enhance our physical health and mental health in a natural way of balancing the forces both within & outside the body. This is a brief about my teachings in the yoga school.
